17th Nordcode Seminar

In collaboration with the Swedish Product Development Academy, Nordcode (the Nordic Network for Communicative Product Design) invites to the 17th Nordcode Seminar to be held 7-9 November, 2018, at the Department of Design Scences, Lund University.

In addition to the traditional Nordcode themes within communicative design, including design aesthetics, product semiotics, experience and pleasure, product brand identity, design research methodology and culture, we welcome contributions on the topic “Intuition and Evidence in Design”.

During two days, industry and academia with interest in product development gathered in Gothenburg for a workshop arranged by Professor Ola Isaksson of Chalmers.

The objective was to bring together academic and industrial actors to identify trends in society, business and technology, and identify priority actions for education, research and industrial change in the area of product development.

The course follows the general syllabus for the mandatory course Research methods, advanced, in the subject area production system at School of Engineering, Jönköping University. The course is of course also open for doctoral students from other subject areas.

On November 30, a PDA workshop was arranged at Design Sciences, LTH, together with national cluster for product modelling; SIG-PM. Focus was set on shaping product development research in Sweden for the next 20 years to come, i.e. to create a vision for 2038 and ways to get there.
